recently released a Billy Gibbons
Pearly Gates guitar. The limited edition Les Paul
Standard is a precise replica of the 1959 model Gibbons has
played on every ZZ Top album. The story behind the
original guitar is a great one. Pearly Gates was the name
the band gave a car it had loaned to a friend after she drove it to
Hollywood and landed an acting role. Money she sent the band when she
sold the car arrived the same day Gibbons bought the guitar.
Figuring the car brought his lady friend good luck, Billy decided to
give the guitar the same name.
