Memorial planned at Lincoln Center to embrace the
arts Journalist Walter Cronkite had an
extraordinary devotion to his craft. It earned the admiration of
vast numbers of similarly devoted people from all walks of life -
including musicians. Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead
and Jimmy Buffett are two friends and admirers of the
journalism icon expected to pay homage to him at memorial event in his
honor at Lincoln Center next month. The September 9 event
is also expected to include former President Bill Clinton,
astronaut Buzz Aldrin, former NBC News anchor Tom
Brokow and many others.
