Several of the biggest
names enshrined in the Rock Hall of Fame will appear at
Madison Square Garden concerts marking the Cleveland museum's 25th
anniversary. Organizers want the October 29 & 30 concerts to
chronicle the evolution of Rock by having performers do songs that
inspired their own music in addition to their own originals.
Each night will feature entirely different lineups. Already confirmed:
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, U2, Crosby, Stills, Nash &
Friends, Eric Clapton, Metallica, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and
Aretha Franklin, with dozens more expected to be announced in
coming weeks. Tom Hanks, Cameron Crowe and
Robbie Robertson are involved in producing the show and
integrating archival footage. Proceeds from the concerts will go
toward creation of an endowment for the museum. American Express
card holders get a jump on tix - Monday
(7/27)
through Ticketmaster. If
any remain, others can buy them starting the following Monday
(8/3).
Prices were not made available in the RHOF Press release.
