Former
Skynyrd drummer facing another court battle
It has been a rough road in recent years for Thomas Delmer Pyle.
The former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer plead guilty to attempted
sexual battery charges involving a minor in 1993 and was sentenced to
8 years probation. He was also under court orders to to register
as a sex offender beyond that period. He was arrested in St.
Augustine, Florida and charged with failing to register when he tried
to get his drivers license reinstated in 2007. Pyle contends he
was not obligated to register because he was still in the process of
relocating from North Carolina and had not yet taken up residence in
Florida. The technical charge is for "unlawful acts in relation
to a driver's license" for using an invalid address. A trial
will take place August 24 unless a deal can be reached between
Pyle's attorney and authorities.
