Gusting winds buffeted riders but not Jimmy, who rode in
the Astana cycling team's shadow car in today's
(7/9) stage of the Tour De
France. The team's Lance Armstrong entered the stage
that takes the race into grueling terrain near Barcelona as the
overall leader. Buffett, there at his friend Armstong's
invitation, told VeloNews.TV the race lived up to the
experience he hoped for, calling it all-in-one Mardis Gras,
Super Bowl, Rock & Roll and athletic event. Asked
about competition between Armstrong and Spanish team mate
Alberto Contador, Jimmy drew an analogy to Lennon -
McCartney and Don Henley and Glenn Frey.
Also announced today, the first Margaritaville Cafe north of
the border, scheduled to open in Calgary in 2012
