Elton Guests On Alice In Chains Album

Plays piano on tribute to band's former lead singer In a collaboration so unlikely we would not believe the news unless it came from the label, the new Alice In Chains album features Elton John on a song titled *Black Gives Way To Blue, a tribute to Layne Staley.* The oddity of the pairing wasn't lost on AIC members. When a friend brought up the idea asking Elton to play piano on the track Jerry Cantrell laughed, saying, "Yeah, I'll get right on that." They ended up sending the the song to Elton, who phoned to say he wanted to take them up on it, later calling the experience "a great recording session with Alice In Chains for a beautiful song.
