Jackson Browne’s Going Home
(on DVD August 17)
This re-issue of this 1999 video release weaves together documentary and live
footage to produce a
compelling chronicle of
the musical contribution one of America's best singer-songwriters over the
last 40
years. Going Home features interviews and footage from both large and intimate and
electric and acoustic concerts recorded
throughout his career, including several songs that are a good reminder of how quiet
powerful songs sometimes are.
Over the span of a career that includes him having penned songs that helped
create multi-million selling
albums for others, Browne earned 7
platinum album awards of his own, along the way gaining well-deserved entry
into the
Rock Hall Of Fame (2004) and recognition by the Songwriters Hall Of Fame
(2007).
Going Home includes many
of his biggest songs, but also showcases some less frequently heard tunes
that
deserve more recognition for the role they play in solidifying his
importance as a writer.
Artists contributing music or insights to the project include David
Crosby & Graham Nash, The Eagles, Bonnie Raitt and Browne's long-time guitarist and close friend, David Lindley.
