Keyboard great Joe Sample passes away

Joe Sample. one of the contemporary legends of Jazz piano, passed away on Friday (9/12) at the age of 75.  During a recording career that spanned more than 50 years, Sample contirbuted to albums by a number of Rock artists, including Eric Clapton (Reptile, Pilgrim, Unplugged), Steely Dan (Gaucho, Aja), Joe Cocker, Boz Scaggs, Ringo Starr, Elvin Bishop and Canned Heat as well as albums by Blues masters like BB King and Albert King.  Sample also recorded a number of albums on his own, as a member of the Jazz Crusaders and with several top-shelf Jazz artists.
